It’s spring and time for butterflies. Want to know how to attract them? Here are a few tips to help you out. They are highly attracted to some plants, some flowers for your flower garden: Alyssum, Lilac (also known as a butterfly bush), Roses, Marigold, Zinnia, Mum, Clover, Sunflower, any Ice plant, Verbena, Daisy, Forget Me Not, Parsley, Rosemary, Grape Vine, Snapdragon.

A few bushes and trees you may already have: Lantana, Privet, Japanese Blueberry, Cassia, Honeysuckle, and Fruit or Citrus tree, Desert Willow or Chilapia.

Hummingbirds are attracted to some of the same plant life. If you want to plant to specifically attract butterflies, make sure that the plants are planted in an area that will get at least five to six hours of sun a day. After feeding on nectar, butterflies are especially known to stretch their wings and bask in the sun (the heat help them digest). Be sure to keep up on your watering schedule and fertilizing to have all of your plants in the best shape possible for the butterflies to be attracted. Enjoy the butterflies!
